With parents who always made good food, good wine, and good friends a priority, enjoying it all was part of Marc’s family culture. As a young adult, he recalls driving in the California wine country with his family, admiring the serene beauty of the Napa and Sonoma Valleys. Weekly family gatherings were always surrounded by beautiful meals created by his father with interesting wines shared by all. Marc has been reading, studying, drinking, and enjoying wines ever since. This love of wine was continually reinforced during annual trips to visit family back in California.
Marc grew up in nearby Temple Terrace, went to King High School and holds a BA degree in Marketing from USF and an MBA from the University of Tampa. After working in the insurance and telecommunications industries in senior marketing capacities, he followed his dream into the wine world and made a career change -- moving into a managing a start-up Florida winery and wine importer/distributor in Land O’Lakes. He was instrumental in setting up a wine partnership with a Chilean winery and worked with their winemaker and staff to create a luxury wine brand consisting of five varietal wines. Included in that group of wines was the Carmenere which he first imported into the Florida market in early 2003 and marketed as the “The Lost Merlot” for those unfamiliar with that generally unknown varietal.
Recently, Marc worked for a major wine retail store as their wine consultant handling fine wine sales, operations, and wine education. In addition, he has had the good fortune to consult with other clients within the wine and cigar industries.
Marc brings his passion for food and wine to the Rolling Pin Kitchen Emporium wine program. He is excited to add to the unique experience offered to its guests and strives to add a wonderful and educational tasting experience. Cheers!
